Why do I feel sick when I eat chicken?

The school served chicken as every meal for lunch. Now, I’m on summer vacation. My parents aren’t home a lot and I have to cook for myself, and I usually choose chicken. Now, I feel sick when I have it. Why am I becoming intolerant of poultry?

It is very possible to have an allergic reaction or intolerance to meats. I am allergic or intolerant, would be the correct choice, to Lamb. It gives me gas and pork causes stomach cramps. I can eat only small amounts of Beef or I feel sick. I began to become sick eating Salmon. Then I found I was only allergic to farm salmon. The reason is that farm Salmon is dyed red and has formaldehyde . Since formaldehyde is a poison it would cause most people to get sick. Only eat fresh caught Salmon like Chinook. Always rinse fish in cold water to avoid histamine poisoning. I use some white wine when cooking it to make it sweeter and kill germs. Lemon also works. If fish smells bad throw it away unless you are keen on regurgitation! (Vomiting)

Th problem with chicken is it all has salmonella on the outside of the skin. So do egg shells so you should never let them stay in your omelet or scrambled eggs. Salmonella can be cooked out but you should always wash your chicken with cold water and the use wine vinegar or lemon juice on it to alter the PH factor. The other thing is always buy very fresh or organic chicken. Free range means nothing because there is no FDA standard for that. You could take a chicken out of a pen for a few minutes and that is free range. True free range are like what you see in a small farm. Many times what the chicken is fed will make you sick. Just visit a chicken farm or slaughter house. You will go vegetarian over night.

Not that you can’t get e-coli from vegetables. If the vegetables are fertilized with manure like many organic vegetables are you must wash them thoroughly in cold water. Hot water will make it worse.
Sometimes the tomatoes or vegetables are grown down stream from a cattle ranch or pig farm and the water used to irrigate is polluted. This happens on the border of the US and Mexico. We often pollute their tomatoes. Then Wall-Mart buys them.

Always wash you hands for at least 15 seconds in 100 degree or hotter water and soap. Unless you like to eat poop. Fecal matter is on hands and is the main cause of those restaurants that have a B rating. Wash all knives after every use with hot water and soap. One table spoon of bleach to one gallon of cool water creates a sterilizer. Use cool water because bleach becomes less effective in hot water. Restaurants use this or they use KUOTS. It is a sterilizer made from ammonia and bleach. Never blend ammonia and bleach together as they cause a toxic gas that will kill you fast. This solution is used to rinse dishes.

Most of the things that get you sick when you cook have to do with sponges ( a No No) Sponges are so full of bacteria that you may as well wash your counter dishes and utensils with raw chicken!
The other thing is that chicken and turkey must be cooked to 165 degrees. Same with ground meat. Remember when Jack in the box killed all those people? Now you can’t get a medium rare burger. Steak should be cooked to 155 but med rare is 145 and rare is 135.
But here is the thing if you cook a whole chicken or turkey you can cook it till it reaches 145-155 it will climb up to 165+ after removing it from the oven. Buy a 10 dollar digital thermometer at your local grocery store or kitchen supply store, Insert it in deep after you have cooked it a proper length of time. Usually about an hour @ 375 for chicken. Turkey comes with an amount based on the size. Check the temperature by pulling the chicken or turkey out of the oven a bit and insert the thermometer deep past the breast. wait and it will climb. Once it hits 155 you can take it out but don’t cut it. Let the thermometer stay in and wait till it reaches at least 165. Once it goes down in temperature by 10 degrees you can cut the bird. This way you wont get sick.
A roast is the same but cook it to 130 and remove it. It will climb to 155. This is called letting it set. If you cut to soon it bleeds out and looses all its moisture. Never leave food out over 4 hours. If you do throw it away it has millions of bacteria by then.
This should keep you from getting sick. Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables but wash them.
